The Director of Strategic Communication of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Chief Dele Momodu has said the group of five governors and their allies who have been at loggerheads with the leadership of the party will soon drop their agitations.

The governors led by Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike are calling for the resignation of the party’s national chairman, Dr Iyorchia Ayu.

Addressing newsmen at the Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign headquarters in Abuja on Thursday, Momodu said they were happy to hear that the governors were open to reconciliation, adding that their continued peace overtures was beginning to yield result.

The Campaign Council also threatened to report the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the police and the National Peace Committee (NPC) over alleged attacks on its rallies in Kaduna and Maiduguri.

Momodu said, “We’ve been at it for some time trying to see how we can bring everybody under the same umbrella.

“So hopefully, in the next couple of days and weeks, all of us will be able to work as one family. PDP is the biggest political family in Africa and we want it to remain so.”

On the attacks on the party’s rallies, he said, “We were attacked in Borno State. We’ve been attacked in Kaduna and it’s so unfortunate because there was a Peace Accord that was signed by most of the presidential candidates.

“We hope that you’re able to help us send the message across to the authorities that PDP is worried,” he added.
