The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has commiserated with a former Governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, over the death of his immediate younger brother, Inuwa Musa Kwankwaso.

The PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, in a statement issued Sunday, expressed sadness over the death of Inuwa Kwankwaso who was described as a humble and very patriotic Nigerian that remained committed to the service of the country to the end.

He said the late Inuwa was a dedicated civil servant and resourceful agricultural engineer who made enormous sacrifices towards the development of the agricultural sector in our country.

The party, which also condoled Inuwa’s wife and children as well as the government and people of Kano State for this irreparable loss, prayed to God to comfort his family and grant his soul peaceful repose.

“The PDP recalls his contributions to agricultural research, food production, environmental protection and afforestation efforts in our country, particularly the Afforestation Project in Kano state.

“It is indeed heartbreaking that this great Nigerian left the stage at the time his wealth of experience and commitment to service are needed the most.

“Inuwa’s selflessness and unwavering commitment to duty clearly derived from his affinity with his elder brother, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, in his exemplary leadership and sacrificial roles towards the unity, stability and development of our dear nation.

“The PDP family deeply shares in Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso’s pain at this moment of grief, knowing the anguish of losing a very close and dearly beloved younger brother,” the statement added.

The death of Inuwa was announced on Monday in a statement signed by Coordinator, Kwankwasiyya Media Centre, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State had paid a condolence visit to Senator Kwankwaso, at his Bompai residence, Miller road, Kano, over the death of his brother.

Ganduje met Kwankwaso after paying a similar visit to the families of the deceased at Kwankwaso town in Madobi local government, where the governor was received by the District Head of Madobi, Saleh Musa Kwankwaso (Baba) and other members of the family.

Ganduje and Kwankwaso have been fighting a political battle for years.
