The Peoples Democratic Party has condemned the attack and arson on its office and the property of a prominent PDP member located in Gombe by hoodlums.

The PDP National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, while reacting on Wednesday, described the attack on its office and the property of PDP’s Presidential Candidate in the 2019 general elections, Atiku Abubakar, as “cowardly, criminal as well as a great threat to democracy, national security and peaceful co-existence in the country”.

The party called on President Muhammadu Buhari to protect the lives and property of Nigerians as the Commander-in-Chief vested with the duty.

The PDP also charged the Inspector General of Police to immediately track down the culprits and their sponsors and make them face the full wrath of the law to serve as a deterrent to others.  

The party, which called for calm, urged the people of Gombe State to remain united and resolute in their determination to kick the APC out of government, in the forthcoming 2023 elections.

Hoodlums suspected to be political thugs on Tuesday, vandalised the campaign office of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar at the Investment Quarters, eight kilometres away from the Gombe metropolis.

The hoodlums also razed the Gombe State Secretariat of the opposition PDP situated along Bauchi road in Gombe.
