The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Jigawa State has accused the All Progressives Congress-led (APC) government in the state of illegally deducting money from the account of local governments to finance next year’s local government councils’ election campaign.

But the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) in the state and an aide to the state governor described the allegation as false and baseless.

The chairman of the PDP in Kazaure LG of the state, Mustapha Ibrahim Danshatu, told Daily Trust on Wednesday that the government was remitting the allegedly deducted funds into a private organisation’s bank account.
