The Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN) on Thursday said 387 pharmacies and Patient Medicines Shops have been sealed in Oyo State.
The director and head of enforcement of the council, Stephen Esumobi, who disclosed this at a press conference in Ibadan, said the exercise was carried out in collaboration with officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

Esumobi said the council also arrested one person for illegally breaking the PCN seal.
“The public is hereby advised to source all drug needs from registered and currently licensed pharmacies and over-the-counter medicines from registered patent medicine shops. All licensed premises are expected to display their premises licences or evidence of registration conspicuously in the premises,” he said.
He expressed concerns that despite the PCN sensitisation programs through various platforms, so many premises in Oyo State were still operating in breach of regulations.
