The Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN) has sealed 308 pharmacies and patent medicine shops in Benue State.
PCN’s Director of Enforcement, Stephen Esumobi, who made the disclosure Friday at a press conference in Makurdi, said the exercise was carried out in 13 local government areas of the state in continuation of the council’s activities aimed at sanitising the system.

He said, “At the end of the exercise, a total of 445 premises were visited comprising of 113 pharmacies and 332 patent medicine shops. A total of 308 premises were sealed comprising 56 pharmacies and 252 patent medicine shops.
Esumobi urged the public to ask for the registration status of facilities where they access medicines by requesting the current licenses issued by PCN from any pharmaceutical outlet to safeguard themselves from patronising quacks.
