Pay our outstanding salaries, we’ll resume work, ASUU tells FG

Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has said that it is ready to call off the seven-month strike if the federal government pays members’ outstanding salaries.

ASUU’s Ibadan zonal coordinator, Professor Ade Adejumo stated this on Wednesday while briefing newsmen in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Adejumo said despite the ongoing negotiation, the federal government has refused to pay their salaries and allowances.

He said some members were selectively paid “amputated salaries” to starve the union of the energy needed to sustain the negotiations.
