The management of Paul University, Awka, Anambra state, yesterday honoured late former vice president, Dr Alex Ekwueme with a posthumous honorary doctorate degree in Law.
Late Ekwueme who was the chairman of the Board of Trustees of the institution, was bestowed the honour during the institution’s 3rd convocation ceremony.
Speaking during the event, the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof Uche Isiugo-Abanihe, revealed that the management of the institution had also finalised arrangements to name its administrative building, donated by the late elder statesman, after him.
The daughter of the late Dr Alex Ekwueme, Barr Chidi Onyrmelukwe,
who received the award on behalf of her late father, expressed appreciation to the university for honouring his father.
