Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has stated that paucity of funds is impeding the execution of mega road projects in the state.
Gov Sule, who made the statement when he visited Olam Rice Farm, pledged to flag off the Idadu-Agbashi Road soon.
During the visit to Olam, he also inaugurated a 50KW solar power project, a collaboration between World Bank, the federal government and a private firm.
He, however, revealed that, “Paucity of funds hinders the execution of bogus projects in the state, noting that his administration had succeeded in completing Mararaban Udege-Sisin-Baki-Kwarra roads.”
He further disclosed that the groundbreaking of Akpanaja-Rukubi-Idadu-Agbashi roads would commence this year.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of Doma Local Government Area, Architect Ahmed Sarki-Usman, applauded Olam Rice Farm for providing security to Rukubu and its environs.
The Senior Vice President and Business Head of Olam, Anil Nair, thanked the federal, state and Doma governments for hosting the company.
Earlier, the Andoma of Doma, Alhaji Ahmadu Aliyu Ogah, hailed former President Goodluck Jonathan for supporting the citing of Olam Rice Farm in Rukubi.
The monarch also thanked the governor for promising to construct the Akpanaja-Rukubi-Agbashi-Doma road, stating that the reconstruction of the roads would open a window of opportunities in the state.
