A self-acclaimed pastor, Joseph Mukala, has been arrested for allegedly defiling an underage girl in Udumuje Quarters, Onicha-Olona, Delta State.The suspect was said to have taken the girl to his house under the pretext of wanting to send her on an errand.The police said on arrival at his house, the suspect forcefully had sexual intercourse with her.The girl related her ordeal to her mother who in turn reported the matter to the police.Delta State Commissioner of Police, Ali Mohammed Ari, who confirmed the incident, said the case was reported by one Goodness Onyepunka of Udumuje Quarters, Onicha-Olona.“The woman alleged that at about 7.34 pm, her daughter, name withheld, told her that one Joseph Mukala aka Pastor came to their house and took her on his motorcycle to his house where he had carnal knowledge of her. “The said Joseph Mukala has been apprehended and has made a confessional statement.“He will soon be charged to court for the crime committed. This is to serve as a deterrent to others who would like to take advantage of innocent little girls to defile them,” he added.
