Passenger slumps, dies inside commercial bus in Ogun

A 29-year-old passenger, Anuoluwapo Aderemi, reportedly collapsed and died in a commercial bus in Ogun State.
It was gathered that Aderemi was travelling on a commercial bus from Papalanto Motor Park in Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State to Ibadan, Oyo State.
The incident occurred at a filling station in Itori around 7:45 pm on Tuesday.
Spokesman of the Ogun Police Command, Odutola Omolola, confirmed the incident, saying the case was reported at the police station by the bus driver, Akeem Olorode.
“The driver was en route to Ibadan with a bus that seats 18 passengers, but was carrying only 15 travellers when they departed from Papalanto.
“At around 7:00 pm, the driver stopped at a filling station in Itori to refuel. While filling the tank, other passengers alerted him that one of the passengers was acting strangely and had become unconscious,” she said.
Odutola said while other passengers made attempts to administer first aid, Aderemi collapsed and passed away inside the bus.
He said upon receiving the report, police detectives from the Ewekoro division were sent to the scene, where they found the deceased along with other passengers.
“It was later revealed that the deceased was a resident of Ibadan. He was transported to a state hospital in Ifo, where a doctor on duty confirmed his death,” she said.
