The Bauchi State Football Association Chairman, Patrick Pascal has reiterated his determination to continue to rebrand football in the state.
He made this in a chat after he was given an award of excellence by the wife of the Bauchi State governor, Dr Aisha Bala Mohammed over the weekend.

According to him, the award is to spur him to do more in unearthing new talents that will become stars in the Nigerian football community as he strives to develop football in the state.
“This award will encourage me to continue to do more to discover talents from Bauchi State. In my capacity as the FA chairman, we have organised a lot of grassroots football events and we have seen some of them gradually getting the nod in some teams as they continue in their career. As you know, football is all about grassroots.
“I thank Her Excellency for identifying with us as it is part of the moves by the state government to empower our youths and see them use sports as a whole to reduce insecurity, poverty and grow the economy of the state,” he said.
In the same vein, the first lady commended the Atlanta 1996 Olympics gold medalist for promoting grassroots football in the state.
She further assured of her support for the growth of football in the state while saying her doors are wide open and will continue in her capacity to sponsor more youth competitions in the state.
