Golden Eaglets goalkeeper, Pascal Uzoho, has said his ultimate ambition is to replace his elder brother, Francis Uzoho in the Super Eagles.

The younger Uzoho spoke to Daily Trust after yesterday’s reception for his team by the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development at the Moshood Abiola national stadium, Abuja.

Pascal expressed happiness at winning his first laurel for the national team and stated further that his dream is to keep for the Super Eagles in future.

“I feel really great to have my first experience in winning a tournament for Nigeria. I also feel happy and proud to have my elder brother as the Super Eagles goalkeeper.

“I look up to him and I want to follow in his footsteps to keep goal for the Super Eagles in the future,” he concluded.

He also pleaded with Nigerians not to lose hope in his elder brother, Francis Uzoho, despite the 2022 World Cup misadventure.

It will be recalled that following the absence of Watford of England new signing, Maduka Okoye, in the 2022 World Cup final qualifying ties against the Black Stars of Ghana, Uzoho manned the posts in both matches.

“He is a very good goalkeeper. He felt very bad and I felt for him too. As a goalkeeper myself, there are good and bad days but Nigerians should not lose hope in my brother,” he said.

Meanwhile, the sports ministry has given a cash reward of N2m to the team for finishing as the competition winners after defeating Burkina Faso 2-1 last Friday night and securing automatic ticket for the Algeria 2023 CAF U-17 Africa Cup of Nations.
