He said, “The NYP wishes to express its gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari and his entire Executive Council for the approval to establish the NYIF.
“It is an initiative targeted at creating a special window for youths with genuine business ideas to access credit facilities and financing to fund their ideas, innovations and also support their enterprise.”
Mijinyawa also commended the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Sunday Dare, for standing firm with them in this regard until the policy finally saw the light of day.
“It is our firm belief that with Mr. Sunday Dare, the youths are in safe hands and we wish him well in his present and future endeavours,” the NYP head said.
He urged the presidency and the ministry to have youth representation in the Board of Trustees and thereafter appoint a youth as the Chief Executive Officer/Director General of the Fund.
He said “‘Anything about the youth that does not involve the youth, is not for the youth’.”
