Parallel rallies: Dambazau heads Kwankwaso’s security committee

Former Kano state Governor, Dr Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso has set up a 19-member security committee ahead of his visit to Kano state on slated for January 30, 2018, Daily Trust, learnt.

Daily Trust had reported that Kwankwaso and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) under the leadership of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje are set to hold parallel political rally in Kano on January 30. The two separate events were centred on the forthcoming local government election in the state slated for February 10, 2018 and by extension, the 2019 general elections.

The committee is headed by General Bello Dambazau (rtd) while Dr Danyaro Ali Yakasai and Barrister Munir Dahiru will serve as vice chairman and secretary of the committee.

Other members of the committee include Colonel Usman Garun-Malam (rtd), Air Commodore Salisu Yusha’u (rtd), Major General Ahmad Tijjani Jibril (rtd), Air Commodore Ali Bebeji (rtd), Air Commodore Zakari Baffa and AIG Bala Abdullahi (rtd).

Also among the members are CP Rabi’u Mani (rtd) Commander Kamilu Wudil, Commander Sarki Aliyu Daneji, Alhaji M.T Usman, Hon Lawal Sale Gaya, Alhaji Baba Umar, Alhaji Tijjani Dambazau, Alhaji Sanusi Surajo Kwankwaso, Alhaji Adamu Garko and Alhaji Muhammad Ado Dambatta.

The committee was saddled with responsibility of organising all security matters during the January 30th visit by senator Kwankwaso.

Members of the committee, Daily Trust, gathered have been holding series of meetings in Kaduna state with a view to ensuring smooth and peaceful visit.

Speaking to Daily Trust, a member of the committee, Alhaji Sanusi Surajo Kwankwaso, said the committee was determined to ensure peaceful visit.

He said, “We are committed to the responsibility we are charged to discharge and we will not disappoint our people. So far everything is going as scheduled and God’s willing we will hold a peaceful event comes January 30th.”
