The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, has called on students to pursue both religious and western knowledge in order to succeed in the modern world.
The minister made the call at the Pantami Secondary School, Gombe during the distribution of exercise books to students by the area council of the Muslim Student Society of Nigeria (MSSN), to commemorate his one year in office as minister.
Represented by Dr Abdulrahman Umar Maigona, the minister said students from the state and the country at large have all it takes to be successful in life, as much as they will remain committed to their studies.
The minister commended the MSSN for supporting the students in their education pursuit, saying the youths are the future leaders when guided and mentored rightly by those in leadership positions.
Chairman, MSSN Gombe Area Council, Malam Aminu Kawu, said the gesture was meant to instil reading culture and commitments on the students to make them aspire and succeed in life.
The Principal, Baba Audu, commended MSSN for the support, stressing that the gesture would have positive impact on the students.
