The Speaker of the Niger state House of Assembly, Honourable Bawa Wuse and the Clerk of the Assembly, Mohammed Kagara have gone into Issolation after testing positive to Covid – 19.
It was learnt that the member representing Gurara, Binta Mamman tested positive, which made the whole legislators and staff of the Assembly to undergo testing for coronavirus.

Unfortunately, the results of the speaker and that of the clerk turned out positive.
According to information gathered from the sources at the house of assembly, the lawmakers and principal staff have gone into isolation as the virus berged at the Assembly in its second wave in the country.
A close source at the Assembly said most of the test carried on the lawmakers returned negative except that of the Speaker and the Clerk.
The source however, confirmed that the duo are responding to treatment.
It was learnt that the spike in Covid-19 in the state has resulted in death in recent days including that of a former Head of Service which occurred on Saturday.
Fear grips workers
It was learnt that fears have gripped workers in the state and those from the Assembly in particular due to the latest development.
The state government has however directed workers to stay home startingf Monday while all schools have been shut since Friday.
