Two men, Oluwole Omidiji, 42, and Stephen Oge, 40, were yesterday brought before an Ogudu Magistrate’s Court in Lagos for allegedly conspiring to steal a car valued at N1 million.

Omidiji of Aliu Street and Oge of Aina Close both in Gbagada, Lagos, are facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Lucky Ihiehie, told the court that the accused committed the offences on Oct. 11 at No 5, Rstraport Avenue, Sholuyi, Gbagada.

He said the complainant told the police that he handed over his Toyota Corolla car with registration No: KSF 01 CK to Omidiji, a panel beater to repair but that Omidiji later told him that the car was stolen from the workshop.

He said he gave the spare key to the panel beater and that the photocopies of the vehicle’s particulars were in it.

The accused men, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The magistrate, Mrs O.S. Amzat, granted them bail in the sum of N100, 000 each with two sureties each in like sum. The case was adjourned to December 13 for mention. (NAN)
