Audu’s death a big loss-Masari
The death of Prince Abubakar Audu came as a big shock and it was a big blow not only to the people of Kogi State and the APC but to all Nigerians, Katsina State Governor Aminu Bello Masari said in Abuja yesterday.
He said Audu was not only one of the country’s most experienced politicians but was also one of its most committed democrats. Audu’s experience in governance, Masari said, is much needed in these trying times as he has provided invaluable services to his state and the country and was set to do so again before his death on Sunday.
The Katsina governor, who spoke through his Senior Special Assistant on Sports, Aminu Balele Kurfi, said Prince Audu was a man who had an enviable career in the banking industry before he ventured into politics. He therefore had an uncommon ability in economic management which is an asset much needed by the country at this time, Masari said. He praised the late Audu as a tireless grassroots mobiliser who was very close to his people and who worked assiduously to raise the lot of his people throughout his life. He prayed to Allah to grant Audu eternal rest in aljannat. He also prayed to Allah to give the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
