A police inspector, Saleh Ahmadu, who was injured in the clash has claimed that the deceased security man at the APC chieftain’s house shot at him, after he was trying to calm down the rampaging youths.

Speaking with our reporter on his sick bed at University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada, Inspector Ahmadu, said he led a patrol team to Dobi village on that day and when he saw a group of youth hurling stones into the House of Representatives member’s house, he waded in with his men to calm the tension.

He said after that, he went to rest under a tree when a bloodied youth came asking for his help.

He said he was interrogating the injured victim when he suddenly heard a gunshot from a compound and he decided to find out who was shooting and it was in the process that he was shot in the neck.

He said it was the gunshot that attracted the attention of the soldiers at a checkpoint near the village.
