By Abubakar Sadiq Isah

The chairmanship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), in the April 9, 2016 council election in Kwali Area Council, Mr. Danlami Saleh Yebu, has said if elected he will execute people oriented projects.

Yebu, who spoke during an interview with our reporter yesterday said there are a lot of projects that are uncompleted and promised that he will complete them when he assumes office.

He noted that most of the uncompleted projects are people oriented citing rural electrification projects at Ijah and Tungan-Sarki villages as examples of projects he will give priority if elected chairman of the council.

He also said that since perennial water scarcity and bad road network have always been the major problems facing people of the rural areas, his administration will ensure that boreholes are sunk in all the rural communities and roads a graded across such communities to enable farmers transport their crops to the market.

The chairmanship candidate added his administration will explore avenues to generate more revenue for the council in order to meet all its financial obligations.

Yebu also said he almost lost hope when INEC did not publish his name among candidates to participate in the area councils election. He however said now that he has got redress from the court he was determined to win so that he can govern his people with justice and fairness.

He thanked the judiciary for playing an important role in sustaining democracy.

“The ruling of the court has really proved that the judiciary is for the common man and also the INEC to have allowed all the political parties to exercise their rights, which is the beauty of democracy. And I thank God for the judgment, ‘’ he said.

He also said the postponement of the council election will give him and his supporters more ground to re-strategize, through embarking on vigorous campaign across the ten wards of the council, saying he is confident that he will emerge victorious.
