The Oyo State Government has declared that it is set to energise 28 transformers in the three senatorial districts in the state.
Most of the transformers were procured during the tenure of former Governor Alao Akala and were not energised throughout the reign of the late Abiola Ajimobi.

The Commissioner for Energy and Natural Resources in the state, Temilolu Seun Ashamu, a lawyer, revealed this in a statement issued in Ibadan on Tuesday.
According to him, the project would cost N247million, which will enable the communities to be connected to the national grid.
“These transformers have been lying fallow for a long time; we need to connect them to the national grid for the benefit of our people, especially in the rural areas,” he said.
