Oyo suspends SS2 student for slapping corps member

The Oyo State Government has suspended a Senior Secondary School II of Anglican Commercial Secondary School, Orita-Mefa, Ibadan (name withheld) for one month for slapping a corp member. 

The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Rahman Abdu-Raheem, who visited the school, said the student on return would apologise to the corp member and sign an undertaking. 

While addressing the students, the commissioner charged them to be of good behaviour, reiterating that the state government would not condone any act of indiscipline.

He warned that any student caught acting in uncivilized manners, henceforth, would be dismissed from schools in Oyo State. 

Abdu-Raheem also charged teachers to be more dedicated and punctual at work.
