Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, on Wednesday, allowed religious centres to hold crossover vigil.
He, however, warned that worship centres must adhere strictly to the advisories and guidelines put in place to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the state.

The governor’s spokesman, Mr Taiwo Adisa, said Makinde gave the directives after receiving a brief from the chairman of the state COVID-19 Task Force, Prof. Temitope Alonge.
Other advisories earlier released by the task force which include a directive of 50 percent occupancy for worship and event centres, a ban on street carnivals, and others remain in effect.
Meanwhile, the Lagos State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria has directed all churches in the state to close their crossover services by 11 pm on December 31, 2020.
The directive was contained in a statement signed by the Lagos State CAN chairman, Bishop Steven Adegbite.
It would be recalled that the state governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, had banned large gatherings in the state including crossover services following the spike in COVID-19 infections.
