Oyo lawmaker, Olaide Akinremi laid to rest

The remains of late Oyo federal lawmaker, Hon. Olaide Akinremi arrived Ibadan on Thursday and was subsequently buried in accordance with Islamic rites.

Daily Trust had reported the death of Hon. Akinremi, aged 51, who represented Ibadan North Federal Constituency in the green chamber of the National Assembly.

 The burial rites, which was conducted by the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheikh Abdulganiy Agbotomokekere, was attended by family, friends, political associates, loyalists, among others.

 Late Akinremi was laid to rest at his Ologuneru residence in Ibadan.

 The lawmaker died in Abuja in the early hours of Wednesday after a brief illness and was airlifted to Ibadan in the early hours of Thursday.

Speaking on behalf of the Speaker of the House Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, Hon. Stanley Olajide, who represents Ibadan North West/ Ibadan Southwest Federal Constituency described Akinremi Jagaban as a strong advocate for the welfare of his constituents who provided empowerment programmes, scholarships and infrastructure development to his constituents across party affiliation.

 The lawmaker, an All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmaker, was elected in 2019 and reelected in 2023, serving the people of his constituency as a second term lawmaker, at the House of Representatives.

 He was the House of Representative Committee chairman, Science Research Institutes.
