Muslims in Oyo State have staged a peaceful protest to express concern over the plight of Palestinians who are going through hardship as a result of the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas.
Amid the presence of security men, the protesters called for an urgent peace process to bring the war to an end.

The rally, organised by the Conference of Islamic Organisations in the state, had in attendance Islamic scholars, clerics and leaders of Muslim organisations, including the Grand Mufti, Conference of Islamic Organisations, Lagos State, Sheikh Dhikrulahi Shafi; Dr Daud Amao Alaga; Barrister Abdulrahman Olaiya and a Professor of Chemical Engineering, Modiu Durowoju.
Prof Durowoju, who addressed journalists, said that the international community led by the United Nations (UN) must retrieve the peace process from the monopoly of the United States (US).
