For the umpteenth time, Oyo State Governor, Senator Isiaq Abiola Ajimobi, on Wednesday in Ibadan used the opportunity of the Eid-el-Fitri in making a passionate appeal to the striking workers in the state “to please imbibe peace and dialogue” in resolving the labour unrest in the state.

Speaking with journalists in his Oluyole private house, shortly after performing the Eid-el-Fitri at the Yidi Praying Ground, Agodi, Ibadan, Ajimobi said “we don’t want anything else, we just want peace, where there is peace, there will be progress”.

He said:  “Let us live peacefully among ourselves.  I am using the opportunity to call on labour and all stakeholders in the state – teachers, students, traders, farmers, artisans, even the thugs and the beggars and miscreants to come together to improve Oyo State.”

While reiterating that democracy is about dialogue, he enjoined the Labour force to come to the round table with the Government to resolve the issues at stake with particular emphasis on the arrears of salaries.
