Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, has declared this week’s Friday as a public holiday in commemoration of the 2021 Isese festival by traditional religion worshipers.
The state’s Commissioner for Home Affairs, Alhaji Tajudeen Olaniyi Lawal, who spoke on behalf of the governor, said this year’s edition of the festival would be marked in low key due to of COVID-19 pandemic.
The governor appealed to the traditionalists to observe COVID-19 safety protocols before, during and after the festival.
He also urged them to be peaceful and law-abiding in their conduct and pray for peace, progress and development in the state and the nation.
