The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chief John Oyegun has said the party has not zoned its Presidential ticket to the North or any particular zone in the country.

Oyegun said this in Benin on Monday while addressing newsmen. He said what was important is having free and fair primaries elections.

He said Nigerians are already disenchanted and fed up with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) government’s leadership and that any candidate put forward by the APC will defeat the PDP candidate.

The APC chairman said he turned down the National honour of the Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) offered him by President Goodluck Jonathan because there was nothing to show for the 15 years of civilian rule in the country.

On the bye election coming up in Adamawa state this weekend Chief Oyegun said APC will win back the state. He said the peaceful conduct of the primaries in the state is an indication that the party is ever united to win the election.

On the alleged grand plan by the APC to scuttle the swearing in of the governor elect Ayo Fayose as the new governor of Ekiti state, Chief Oyegun said the APC has no such plan but that the  governor was statute bared from contesting the election in the first place having been formerly impeached from the same office.

He said the assault and attack on the Judges in the state threaten democracy more than Fayose’s swearing in.
