The Nigerian Tulip International College (NTIC) at the weekend held the 20th edition of its Annual National Mathematics Competition (ANMC).

Briefing newsmen in Abuja, the Managing Director of NTIC, Fevzullah Bilgin, said the competition, which was organised by the school in conjunction with the National Mathematics Centre (NMC), started in 2003 with the aim of encouraging students in the study of mathematics.

He said no fewer than 40,000 pupils from across the 36 states of the federation participated in the 20th edition. 

Bilgin further said 24 students from Primary 5 and 6, and 22 students from Junior Secondary School 3 would be awarded a 100 per cent tuition scholarship.

A participant, Clinton Abua, a pupil of Primefields International School, expressed optimism that he would win to make his school and parents proud.
