Over 20 physically challenged register for JAMB in Nasarawa

No fewer than 20 physically challenged as well as vulnerable persons have been registered for the ongoing Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) in Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

This was facilitated by a group operating under the aegis of Organizer Foundation in Nasarawa State during the unveiling of a billboard in Lafia, the state capital on Sunday.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Daily Trust shortly after the event, the chairman of the group, Malam Mohammed Ja’afar-Adi, said the gesture was to assist the needy because of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on families.

Ja’afar-Adi said it was meant to add value to lives of the less privileged in the society who had been neglected.

He added that rice, spaghetti, sugar and some cash were also doled as a palliative to cushion the effect COVID-19 pandemic, saying that school fees were also given to some students who could not afford it.

The group, however, called on Dr. Musa Adamu, who holds a traditional title as Sarkin Matasan Obi to run for the seat of Lafia/Obi federal constituency in the House of Representatives in 2023.
