This is even as the Northern Therapist holds its third annual marriage conference with the theme: “intentional marriage.”
However, married couples were also part of the larger gathering as issues relating to day-to-day marital activities were discussed with a view to finding lasting solutions.
Speaking about the conference, the founder, Northern Women Therapist, Maryam Hassan Baba said the idea of bringing everyone together was a result of findings that only a few people have access to marriage counselling services and to reduce the rate of failed marriages in communities.

She said, “We looked at our society and the increase in divorce rate; we have cases of couples divorcing just two weeks into their marriage.
