Over 1,000 complaints lodged for overbilling of power customers in Nasarawa

Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, (NERC) has disclosed that 1, 123 complaints have been lodged for over billing of customers by Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) in Nasarawa state.

Commissioner, Consumer Affairs, NERC Dr. Moses Arigu, made the disclosure at the commissioning of the customer complaints office in Lafia. He said, “This exercise was very imperative for the customers and one of great benefits that could improve metering against estimated metering. It is on record that within the period of January to September, 2018, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company recorded 1,123 complaints from customers within Lafia and its environs who were dissatisfied with services rendered.”

According to him, the NERChas directed all electricity Distributions Companies (DISCOs) in the country to carry out customer Enumeration in their domains by March 31, 2019.

A power consumer among others , Mr. John Donatus appealed to AEDC to address all the complaints lodged by customers by supplying them power supply.
