‘Over 100 high profile cases worth N2.2tr pending’

Corruption in Nigeria has been elevated to impunity, the Human and Environmental Development Agenda (HEDA Resource) has observed.

Its chairman, Olanrewaju Suraju, said government and public officials have become so emboldened in their corrupt practices.

He spoke in Lagos during the public presentation of protracted 100 high profile corruption cases that began in 2005 involving over N2.2tr.

The publication detailed parties involved, case number, nature of offence, amount involved, year the case was filed, court and status, to increase citizens’ awareness of those cases and circumstances surrounding them.

It was in commemoration of the World Anti-Corruption Day, which comes up December 9.
