Our govt has become oppressive – APCN

Addressing officials of APCN during a scheduled meeting in Abuja yesterday, the party’s national chairman, Engr. Olu Okunrinboye said, “Today, our government in power has become an instrument of oppression or miscarriage of justice which is the main reason for carpet crossing in our society.”
He said, “Our government boasts of democracy which is based on promises that can never be kept because the proponents do not understand how democracy works. Nigeria needs a leader that can lead us to the Promised Land.”
Okunrinboye stressed that corruption scandals and lack of adequate and appropriate law enforcement by the present government are to the benefit of government officials and their relatives.
He called on government not to fund political parties because government does not form parties adding that “he who pays the piper dictates the tune”.
According to him, his party guarantees firmness, equity and justice to all.
He declined to say whether his party will come up with its presidential candidate for 2015 general elections or simply adopt the ruling party’s.
It is expected that the meeting’s communiqué will come up with a decision on the challenge it faces with one of its members over national chairmanship position.
