Ouch! Lion gets impaled by horn of angry buffalo

This incredible picture shows the moment a ferocious young lion found itself impaled on the horns of a water buffalo during an epic ninety minute battle. The unlucky cub was caught on the horn of a cape bull buffalo as it leapt onto the animal, while it was grazing in long grass, in the Mala Mala Game Reserve in South Africa. Joined by four other members of its pride the lion pounced on the beast and despite the fact they clawed, gouged and sank their teeth in together – it took them an incredible hour and a half to finally take the buffalo down.
