A woman, identified simply as Riskat, has been arrested by men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for battering her nine-year-old daughter, Faridah Akeem, for leaving the door of their room open in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
It was gathered that Riskat’s neighbours who were outraged about the incident sought the intervention of the NSCDC.
The victim, Faridah, told journalists that, “My mother beat me to this extent because I opened the door to our room. Despite begging her, she refused to stop, instead, she threatened to kill me if I did not close the door.”
The suspect refused to answer questions on what prompted her action.
