Osun voters resisted intimidation by security agents – Sen Shuaibu

Lawal who was reacting to the outcome of the election in a telephone interview with our reporter described as deceptive the claim by the PDP that the deployment of large number of security personnel for the election was to ensure a hitch free election, saying prominent members of the party including its spokesperson were arrested by the same security personnel that were supposed to protect them.
He noted that the people of Osun State and the entire South West have taken the threat of the PDP to rig itself into their government houses seriously and have resolved to counter its moves in their own way.
“The APC has for a long time known that the PDP is targeting the South West before the 2015 general election. That is why the party has alerted its members in the region to be vigilant and protect their rights. So the people are more than ready to do that, and that was what manifested in Osun State,” he said.  
He maintained that the PDP  did all it could to subvert the will of the people of Osun but it was defeated by the people’s power to protect their votes in the elections. He stressed that the defeat of the PDP would be unprecedented in 2015 when Nigerians will express their disillusionment with the present PDP led administration and vote it out.
