The violent protest in Osogbo, Osun State by some irate youth calling for the abolition of Police Special Anti Robbery Squad caused panic among the residents on Friday.
The protesters stormed the headquarters of the Osun State Police Command to register their grievances against SARS.
They marched through major streets, carrying placards with various inscriptions seeking outright ban of SARS.
The protesters said SARS operatives were in the habit of harassing, humiliating and extorting youths.
They insisted that the Inspector General, Muhammed Adamu must disband SARS without further delay.
The spokesperson for Osun State Police Command, Yemisi Opalola appealed to the youths in the state to always be civil in making demands.
