Osun okada riders decry attacks by bike snatchers

There is a growing concern among commercial motorcycle operators in Osun State over deadly attacks by thieves.

In the latest incident, two suspected bike snatchers, Ojo Tunde and Olayemi Abiodun, allegedly attacked and shot an operator in Ile-Ife and took away his bike but were eventually arrested by the police.

It was learnt that Tunde and Abiodun hired the services of the motorcyclist to take them to a location within Ile-Ife, but that on their way they told the rider to stop, shot him and stole his bike.

One of the suspects, Tunde, said, “We hired the motorcyclist to take us somewhere. On our way we attacked and shot him. We took his motorcycle. Thereafter, policemen tracked and arrested us.”
