The Osun State Police Command on Tuesday arraigned a 27-year-old man, Rasheed Kola at a magistrate court in Osogbo, the state capital for allegedly making pepper soup with stolen goat.
The Police Prosecutor, Inspector Adeoye Kayode, told the court that Kola stole the goat at Lajomo Community at Oke-Odo, Olude area of Osogbo at about 2:45 am on February 23, killed the goat and used it to make pepper soup.

Adeoye said the goat which belongs to an old woman, Mama Opeyemi Akinokun worth N25,000 and that the owner was still grieving because of her butchered goat.
The police prosecutor said the offence committed by the accused person was contrary to and punishable under sections 450 and 383 of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Volume II, Osun State Laws, 2002.
The accused person pleaded not guilty to the two- count charge of goat theft and unlawful killing of the goat levelled against him by police and his lawyer, T. B. Ayodele urged the court to grant him bail.
But the police prosecutor opposed the bail application, saying that the accused person will jump bail
In his ruling, Magistrate Adekanmi Adeyeba granted the accused person bail in the sum of N20,000 and adjured the case till March 9, 2022 for hearing.
