The Osun State Police Command has arrested a member of the National Youth Service Corps, Orji Desmond Nkenna, for allegedly diverting 38 permanent voter cards that he was meant to distribute to owners.

The corps member is serving as an ad-Hoc staff at the INEC office at Atakumosa West Local Government Area in Osu in Osun State.

One of the residents, who went to the INEC office to collect his PVC, reported at the Divisional Police Headquarters in Osu that his PVC was taken by someone else.

This led to investigation which eventually exposed the corps member. The 29-year-old corps member, who hails from Anambra State, confessed that two chieftains an opposition party identified requested the cards and promised to give him money when he delivered the cards to them. Nkenna said he demanded for N1,000 per card.

The Police Public Relations Officer for the Osun State Police Command, Yemisi Opalola confirmed the arrest of the corps member, adding that that he would be arraigned.
