Cultists terrorising Osogbo, Osun State capital, have caused panic among residents, with some, who sought anonymity, saying the hoodlums attacked and robbed people in Osogbo at night for three consecutive days.

The areas raided by the cultists in Osogbo include Oke-Popo, Oke-Baale, Olaiya, Egbatedo, Gbeemu, Oja-Oba, Atelewo, Idi-Omo, Balogun, Ita Akogun and Isale-Aro.

Another resident said, “The cultists have been terrorising Osogbo since Monday. They were about 40 on over 10 motorcycles, shooting and brandishing cutlasses.” Another said the cultists came out at 10 pm and left at 12 midnight after robbing people of their belongings.

The police spokesman, Mrs. Yemisi Opalola, said five cultists have been arrested.
