Osun: Court remands man over N2.5m

An Ile-Ife magistrates’ court in Osun, on Monday, remanded a 20-year-old man, Amubieya Timileyin, over N2.5 million fraud.

The prosecutor, Insp. Sunday Osanyintuyi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on November 18, at Aba Iya-Gani area in Ile-Ife.

Insp. Osanyintuyi said the defendant obtained the sum of N2.5m from one Akinrodoye Olakunle on the pretext of selling a Lexus 350 LR to the complainant, but that he failed to do so.

The prosecutor said the offence contravened Sections 383(3), 390(9) and 419 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun State, 2002.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge of fraud and stealing. (NAN)
