Osun: Apprehension as man slumps, dies on street

An unidentified man has slumped and died on the street at Rasco area, near Old Garage/Oke Fia in Osogbo, Osun state.

The residents and passersby who saw the man when he slumped couldn’t move close to him as many people were scared that he might be a coronavirus (COVID-19) carrier.

While people in the area were still wondering what may be the cause of the old man’s death, some policemen from Dugbe Divisional Police Headquarters in Osogbo arrived the scene and evacuated the corpse.

The Police spokesperson in the state, Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the incident.

Opalola said the relatives of the man have showed up and claimed the corpse for burial.

Meanwhile, a similar incident happened at Olaiya area, also in Osogbo, a couple of days ago, our reporter learnt.

The residents were worried and apprehensive as the cause of the death of the two persons remained a mystery.
