A chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Dr Gbenga Surajudeen Salawu, has disclosed that members of the party who formed a splinter group were scheming and begging to return fully.

The Iwo-born medical doctor said the incumbent governor and candidate of APC in the July 16, 2022 governorship election in the state, Adegboyega Oyetola, would enjoy the support of all members of the party and the people of Osun to win the election.

Salawu who is also an aspirant on the platform of the party for Osun West Senatorial seat in the 2023 elections, said the crisis in the party would soon be over.

“As it stands now, I can assure you that a great number of the people in the minority faction have fallen in line with Ileri Oluwa. Many more are planning, scheming and begging to return into our fold,” he said.

Salawu told Daily Trust that his desire to represent Osun West in the Senate was to serve and ensure quality representation in the upper chamber of the National Assembly.

The medical doctor, who practices in Dublin, Ireland, said “I want to represent Osun-West at the Senate because I believe, and my people do too, that I have all the qualities required of a good representative and we don’t want our constituency denied of this advantage of adequate and proper representation.”
