The Chief of Staff to Osun State Governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola has debunked the insinuation that the Governor, Mr Rauf Aregbesola endorsed him for the September 22nd governorship election in the state.
He said this in at his campaign office in Osogbo, the state capital after declaring his ambition to contest for the post of governor to succeed Aregbesola.
Oyetola said he only sought the consent of the Governor on his ambition and that he got Aregbesola’s blessing but nothing like endorsement.
"If Governor Aregbesola endorsed me, I will not need to struggle or campaign as I’m doing now. I have toured every nooks and crannies of this state consulting the stakeholders. I don’t discuss campaign issue with the Governor. So, he (Aregbesola) has been fair to all APC aspirants."
"I can assure you that with my 30 years experience in the private sector and eight years in the governance of this state, I’m the most qualified among all the APC aspirants and I’m well position to continue from where Aregbesola stops."
Oyetola said Aregbesola’s six-point agenda is the best template for governance and that he would fine-tune and adopt it for continuity.
Almost all members of Aregbesola’s cabinet attended the event in a manner that suggested the state paraphernalia is in his hand.
Oyetola who is believed to be the engine room of Aregbesola’s administration confirmed that he knows the in and out of the tunings of the current administration in the state and that he has the capacity to govern the state.
