Osinbajo seeks private sector role automated judiciary

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) has joined the call for the involvement of the private sector in the introduction of technology for the advancement of the administration of justice in the country.

Speaking at the recently concluded the Nigerian Bar Association’s (NBA) Annual General Conference in Abuja, Osinbajo said the private sector are better in driving the process of introducing technology into the administration of justice for sustainability.

Osinbajo, who was interacting with Professor Olukonyisola Ajayi (SAN) on the theme of the conference: ‘Transition, Transformation, Sustainable Institution’ said private sector service providers have been active in the provision of recording for court proceedings and other services.

The vice president said where it is private-sector driven or in other words, where it is profit-motivated, it would be much more successful than where the institutions themselves, especially the public institutions, run those services and expect those services to run well.
