The Vice president, Professor Yemi Osinbanjo and the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar attended the wedding of a former Bauchi State governor, Ahmed Adamu Mu’azu.
The ceremony, which took place in Bauchi on Saturday, was attended by traditional rulers, political and business associates of the former PDP chairman as well as other important personalities from across the country.
The former governor came back to Nigeria for his daughter’s wedding after a three years’ absence.
He stayed away from the country since the PDP lost the 2015 general elections.
However, the presence of Atiku Abubakar and the Vice president at the wedding left many pundits wondering as to what will be the next move of the former PDP chairman.
Many believed that Mu’azu, being a political warrior, would be sought after by both the ruling APC and the opposition PDP.
Speaking to our reporter, the Bauchi State PDP Spokesperson, Yayanuwa Zainabari said that the coming of Mu’azu was a very big boost to the party as it will help it consolidate its strength.
“Leadership of the party had already visited him after his arrival and we are happy that he is back. Mu’azu is a leader, he was a former governor and former National chairman of the party. So, having him in Bauchi is a plus to the party.
“His coming at this time is very important to us. It will silence the people who said that he has abdicated and is not with us. Many people who were on the fence will join us now because they are sure that the PDP means business in 2019,” he said.
