Furthermore, his remarkable goal-scoring prowess led him to clinch the Serie A highest goal scorer award, with an astonishing tally of 26 goals for his beloved club while propelling Napoli to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League.

This nomination follows Osimhen’s recent inclusion in the prestigious list of top 30 Ballon d’Or nominees as he now stands poised to contend for the title of Best Men’s Player in the highly anticipated FIFA Football Awards.

FIFA, in collaboration with a panel of esteemed football experts, meticulously assessed the candidates’ accomplishments during the respective award eligibility periods to curate this impressive list of nominees.

The jury, comprising national team captains, coaches, journalists, and passionate fans from across the globe, are currently casting their votes across various categories. This momentous voting process will conclude at midnight on Friday, October 6th.

Osimhen is also highly favoured to win the prestigious African Footballer of the Year.

The last time a Nigerian won the prestigious award was in 1999 when Kanu Nwankwo emerged the best player in Africa.
